Speaking & Training

Practical marketing, real business life, delivered with energy and purpose

If you’re organising a conference, business event, workshop or training session and want a speaker who’s engaging, experienced and genuinely useful, I’d love to talk.

I’m Steph Briggs, a marketing consultant, copywriter and freelance digital marketing manager based in South Ayrshire, Scotland. I’ve worked in marketing for 25 years and spent the last 10 years as a director of an eCommerce business, so I understand both the strategy and the pressure that comes with making decisions when it’s your business on the line.

I’m also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM).

Although I’m now based in Scotland, I’m English by background and I’ve lived and worked all over the UK. I’ve supported businesses in very different places, markets and contexts, from independent high street retailers to national brands. That breadth matters when you’re talking about customers, not just channels.

I’m a naturally high-energy speaker. I talk quickly, think fast, and care deeply about helping people understand what actually works. There’s no hype and no motivational bs, but there is enthusiasm, honesty and a lot of lived experience.

What I speak about

My sessions are built for people who want clarity, confidence and momentum, not theory-heavy slides or recycled buzzwords.

Bricks, clicks and customer service

This is where I’m genuinely different.

I’ve run a physical retail shop, managed customers face to face, handled complaints, trained staff, and dealt with the realities of service when someone is standing in front of you. I’ve also built and run eCommerce businesses where customer experience lives online.

That means I speak with authority on:

  • How customer service really works across bricks and clicks

  • Translating in-store service values into online experiences

  • Why customer trust is the biggest conversion lever most businesses ignore

  • What independent retailers can do better than big brands (and why that matters)

  • The commercial cost of poor service, and the quiet power of getting it right

This resonates strongly with independent retailers, hospitality businesses, councils, BIDs and place-based programmes, as well as eCommerce brands trying to feel more human.
